Of Land, River, and Body: Ashfika Rahman

December 17, 2025-January 24, 2026

Vadehra Art Gallery, D53 Defence Colony, New Delhi, India

Vadehra Art Gallery is pleased to present the solo exhibition, Of Land, River, and Body, by young Bangladeshi artist, Ashfika Rahman, who brings an ambitious and immersive body of works from her three ongoing series: Than Para; Files of the Disappeared; and Behula These Days. The artist’s first-ever exhibition in India features three large-scale installations, along with series of photographs and interactive audio-visual elements. Rahman’s expressive multi-media practice voyages between art and documentary spanning photography, textile, drawing, print, text, sound, video, and installation. She engages historical archives to investigate complex socio-political issues experienced by marginalized communities of Bangladesh, and draws inspiration from oral and written histories, venturing into mythological and spiritual narratives and folk tales to illuminate contemporary issues of cultural colonization, economic oppression and communal displacement.
