AINA Gallery marks its inauguration with Other Stories—A Genealogy for the Present, bringing together rare works by seminal modernists and new works by contemporary artists. Taking Rasheed Araeen’s landmark 1989 exhibition The Other Story as its point of departure, the exhibition expands its focus across Afro-Asian and diasporic practices. Featuring artists including Rasheed Araeen, F.N. Souza, Avinash Chandra, Zarina Hashmi, Krishna Reddy, Rekha Rodwittiya, Khadim Ali and Victor Ekpuk, the show traces interconnected histories of migration, displacement, identity and cultural exchange.
