Re-Imagining A Way Back To Us: Contemporary Indigenous Fashion and Textiles in India, curated by Sreyansi Singh, presented by India Art Fair and Fashion Design Council of India in collaboration with National Crafts Museum, New Delhi. The exhibition is realised under the mission of ‘Know Your Weave’ by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India for National Handloom Day 2025.
Tracing these practices across the country, clothes and textiles are both acts of inheritance and mediums of reimagination. The iconographies are carried through time — reworn and reworked on as social documents, as invocations of their own cultural sovereignty. More than tradition, this is a repeated act of reclaiming identity, with what the body wears: personal memories, forgotten gods, myths of the land, and everyday rituals.
