Kalakriti’s new show, Sands of Time II, curated by Suroopa Chatterjee, wishes to capture the fluidity of time where every and each moment emerges as a special meaning individually for all artists that might illuminate in new magic, color, format and language for the viewing audience with diverse new meanings.
The showcasing artists include; Akup Buchem, Archisman Roy, Avijit Dutta, Bamdeb Mondal, Chandrasekhar Koteshwar, Debiprasad Bhunia, George Martin, Gopinath S, Kanchan Karjee, Karl Antao , Kaushik Halder, Kantha Reddy, Pallab Das, Rajesh PS, Rahul Modak and Kundan Singh.
Of these, the gallery wishes to highlight three artists.
Rahul Modak is the gallery’s Krishnakriti Fellow, who got a scholarship through the Krishnakriti foundation of Art and Culture, Hyderabad in the year 2013. Kundan Singh is a recent graduate from the University of Hyderabad who been selected by the Gallery’s curatorial team for this exhibition as an emerging artist. Finally, Kantha Reddy is a recent recipient of the Lalit Kala Akademi award – one of the first sculptors from Telangana to receive the same.
