Artist Gulammohammed Sheikh will be in conversation with art historian Kavita Singh on the first biography to study over five decades of his practice. This book, authored by researcher Chaitanya Sambrani, will launch at the fair.
Gulammohammed Sheikh is a painter, art historian and writer who taught for nearly three decades at the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda. His work is inspired by myths, medieval poetry and art history.
Kavita Singh is a Professor of Art History and currently serves as the Dean at the School of Arts and Aesthetics at Jawaharlal Nehru University. An art historian by profession, her research interests include the history and politics of museum collections, the social history of Indian painting, and the application of narrative theory to art. Her publications include essays in several international and national journals.
