The Light and the Lotus: Relics of the Awakened One presents a landmark exhibition centred on the sacred Piprahwa relics of Lord Buddha. Marking the historic reunification of ancient gem relics repatriated to India after 127 years with authentic archaeological materials from the ancient Kapilavastu site, the exhibition brings together more than eighty objects spanning from the 6th century BCE to the present. Through rare artifacts, curated thematic sections, immersive films, and multimedia presentations, the exhibition traces the life of Buddha, the legacy of Piprahwa, and the expansion of Buddhist art and ideals across time.
