Humans since 1982 presents The Poetry of Time, the studio’s first solo exhibition in India, opening 19 March 2026 at 079|STORIES in Ahmedabad. Founded in 2009 by Bastian Bischoff (Germany) and Per Emanuelsson (Sweden), Humans since 1982 operates at the intersection of design, art, and technology, exploring temporality as a material for conceptual expression. The exhibition features their iconic works, A Million Times and ClockClock 24. As both kinetic art objects and functioning timepieces, they translate precision engineering into immersive visual experiences. Dozens of synchronised clock hands create patterns and numbers that emerge and disintegrate, shifting between carefully choreographed order and chaos. Between fleetingly telling the accurate time once each minute, the clock hands are freed to become poetic and playful – transitioning from administrators of time to dancers, and back again.
