Prameya Art Foundation presents The Wall is Water at Shrine Empire Gallery. It is Shahana Rajani’s first solo presentation in the country, with Ustad Abdul Aziz, Abdul Sattar and Aziza Ahmad, curated by Anushka Rajendran. The exhibition foregrounds the mystic practices and lineages of drawing and painting through which fishing communities of the Indus Delta keep alive sacred ecologies of rivers and sea amidst the violence and erasure of infrastructure. The exhibition features a new iteration of the moving image work, Lines That World a River, a poetic tribute exploring community-based practices of painting river-murals and drawing talismans as ways of maintaining sacred relation to disappearing worlds.
