Gallery Threshold presents There is no God in the Temple, a solo show by contemporary artist Shaurya Kumar. Working with shadows of memory, fallen and forgotten objects, Shaurya Kumar brings together a range of works that respond to the current status of art, artifacts and monuments.
With inspiration ranging from art history, classical texts and poetry to new media, museology and ethnographic studies, the artist employs a diverse set of tools, media, techniques and processes including print, drawing, sculpture and installation. The artistic practice of Kumar raises questions and pushes ontological possibilities of his chosen objects, especially objects that have a connection with the sacred.
