Art Explore presents What Must Endure, a two-person exhibition by Throngkiuba Yimchungru
and Kiyomi Talaulicar. Both artists work with memory, but through distinct materials and
approaches. Yimchungru, from Nagaland, uses timber and construction debris, carved with traditional Naga
techniques. His works respond to urgent environmental concerns—the impact of oil exploration,
road construction in the mountains, and coal mining proposals on the fragile ecosystem of
Nagaland. The forms draw on ritual and ancestry, yet they carry the weight of current ecological
loss.
