Hamburger Bahnhof presents, What Still Holds, Shilpa Gupta’s solo exhibition that centerstages the work titled, Truth, situated at the intersection of language, power, and control. The exhibition includes oversized letters alongwith artworks that question the mechanisms that preserve or obscure truth, and the sculptural installations reveal collective progress that depends on protecting and interrogating truths. Complemented by additional works by the artist, the exhibition is presented in dialogue with the museum’s display of works by Joseph Beuys. The parallel presentation highlights similarities in their approaches to language, participation, and social reflection. As part of their thirtieth anniversary programme, the exhibition underscores artistic exchange as a central theme of Hamburger Bahnhof since the museum’s founding.
