THE STRUCTURE OF THE TRAINING PROGRAMME
MODULE 1: Art history – The genres and industry of modern and contemporary art
MODULE 2: Cultural Institutions – Global and local industry mapping of galleries, museums, foundations
MODULE 3: Mediums – From photography to print, film to canvas and living traditions on display at India Art Fair Delhi
MODULE 4: Know-How – Learning the curation and design of tours, timing, storytelling
MODULE 5: The Fair Grounds – Extensive Map study of India Art Fair Delhi and on-site conduct, audience management, tour etiquette
MODULE 6: Expand Knowledge – Interaction with industry and genre experts, curated tours by Shaleen at select exhibitions
MODULE 7: Tour Themes – Allocation of themes to the guides, Content Research
MODULE 8: Review – On-site practice, Feedback, assessment and approval
About our Curator Shaleen Wadhwana
Shaleen Wadhwana is an independent award-winning arts educator, researcher, and curator bringing audiences closer to South Asian history, art and heritage. Academically trained in Art History (SOAS, London) & Cultural Heritage Law (UNESCO, Geneva), Vice World News UK has showcased her research through The Unfiltered History Tour at the British Museum, London, and it bagged 12 awards at the Cannes Lions Festival (France) – a first time for India.
She is the co-founder of the artist-curator residency and fellowship programme – IMMERSE and educational tour brands: The Chime Project and Cities of Delhi.
In 2023, she was invited to study the archives of Chemould Prescott Road, one of the oldest art galleries in South Asia, and curated their 60th-anniversary exhibition – CheMoulding Framing Future Archives. She has recently been onboarded as an advisor to represent South Asia in the Asia Acquisition Committee at KADIST, a global non-profit contemporary art organisation.
