The Sabyasachi Art Foundation
The Sabyasachi Art Foundation, founded in 2014 is a cultural institution dedicated to the preservation, mentorship, and sustainable development of fine art in India. In response to the financial fragility facing artisans, the Foundation is grounded in the belief that cultural heritage can only endure when creative practice is both economically viable and intellectually uncompromised.
Through long-term mentorship with Mr. Mukherjee, studio infrastructure and salaried stability The Foundation enables members to sustain and refine their practice without dilution of authorship. Central to its philosophy is the sanctity of the artist’s voice: all works are executed entirely by the artist, without apprentices, never commissioned, and protected through intellectual property registration to safeguard both artistic integrity and collector confidence. Art is valued through an equitable synthesis of hand and mind; labour and intellect held in balance.
The Foundation’s artists contribute to a living continuum of art and design, with works inhabiting architectural, textile, and spatial contexts, while remaining anchored in rigorous individual practice.
