Art and Charlie presents “A map folden open” featuring the artists Sabeen Omar, Urna Sinha, Mahen Perera the three artists featured in this exhibition embrace peculiar methodologies of tracing routes. Sabeen Omar transforms fragments of used or discarded textiles into glimmering monuments—to the past, to the touch and presence of bodies, to home and the creation of other worlds from it. Urna Sinha paints and photographs sites of grief and longing, infusing the mundane with the weight of transience. For her, waiting and wandering is a way of attending—to skin and surface, and to the dreams and hallucinations that emerge from routine. Mahen Perera seeks encounters where form and feeling become the centre of knowing. His sculptures record gestures of his experiences that are suspended between desire and withdrawal.
