Archer Art Gallery presents Parikrama, a major solo exhibition by sculptor Ganesh Gohain, marking his sixtieth year. Rooted in ideas of memory, time, space and transformation, the exhibition takes its title from the sacred act of cyclical pilgrimage. Drawing from Gohain’s connections to Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat, the works bring together personal histories, landscapes and inner philosophies. Though trained as a sculptor, Gohain approaches drawing, painting and photography with a distinctly sculptural sensibility. Across the exhibition, canvas, line, light and found forms become vehicles for exploring the unseen and experiential. Parikrama is less a destination than a continuing movement through memory, existence, time and space.
