Muziris Contemporary presents Stick No Bills, solo exhibition of anonymous street artist Guesswho, whose practice since 2012 has used anonymity to strip away identity and let the work speak for itself. Drawing on pop culture, cinema, art, music and South Asian visual culture, Guesswho recontextualises familiar imagery through satire and sharp social commentary. Bringing the work from the street into the gallery, the exhibition questions art-world hierarchies and asks who gets to make, define and experience art.
*This two-part exhibition spans Muziris Contemporary’s Mumbai and Kochi galleries—opening 22 August in Mumbai and 13 September in Kochi, returning the narrative to the coastal roots where the phenomenon began.
