3-13 October, 2025

Travancore Palace, Shrimant Madhav Rao Scindia Marg, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi, India

The Glass Makers Club presents Stories… in Glass, a landmark exhibition by celebrated Indian artist Hemi Bawa. The exhibition opens with a preview at the historic Travancore Palace, K.G. Marg, New Delhi, a location steeped in cultural richness and historical importance. It is a testament to Bawa’s pioneering journey and her unwavering commitment to the medium of glass. Talks, Round tables and sessions on Glass  will also be held on 7 October 2025 to coincide with this exhibition. The exhibition, curated by Dr. Kristine Michael and with artistic direction by Ashwini Pai Bahadur, encapsulates Bawa’s deeply personal and pioneering journey. For over thirty years, Bawa has shaped contemporary glass art’s visual and material language in India. From her formative years at Triveni Kala Sangam, where she was mentored by the esteemed artist and Head of Art Department Rameshwar Broota, to her independent forays into glass art, the exhibition chronicles her creative courage in venturing into a medium that, until then, had no institutional infrastructure in India. This unique journey of artistic exploration and determination is sure to inspire all who visit the exhibition.
