Project 88 presents Stories That Never End: Journeying with Shanu Lahiri, a retrospective curated by Tapati Guha-Thakurta and Nobina Gupta. The exhibition traces Lahiri’s work from the 1970s to the 2000s, bringing together paintings, sketches, writings, photographs, and archival material. It explores the stories, memories, and experiences that shaped her artistic life and persona. Her diverse modernist practice draws on Parisian aesthetics, myths, legends, and regional folklore. Works from series such as Ragamala, Ravan-Sita, and Elokeshi highlight her narrative approach. Her engagement with Kolkata’s streets and people is reflected in recurring motifs such as the hand-pulled rickshaw. The exhibition combines artworks with archival displays, a recreation of her studio, videos, and interactive elements to create an immersive portrait of the artist.
