The Mute Eloquence of the Taj Mahal

October 25-December 6, 2025

DAG, 22A, Janpath Rd, Windsor Place, New Delhi, India

DAG presents The Mute Eloquence of the Taj Mahal, curated by Rana Safvi. The Mute Eloquence of the Taj Mahal positions the Taj itself as a ‘speaking’—though ironically silent—agent through a comprehensive visual narrative, through 200 remarkable works including Company School paintings, works by foreign and modern Indian artists, as well as photographs and postcards spanning from the late eighteenth to the mid-twentieth century. Across the duration of its showing, DAG welcomes you to explore a series of talks and discussions with the eminent scholars and contributors to the book including Rana Safvi, Michael Calabria, Ursula Weekes, Amita Baig, Ira Mukhoty, Emily Shovelton, Giles Tillotson, Muzaffar Ali and others.
