Nature Morte presents The Shape of Standing, a solo exhibition of new works by Basist Kumar, bringing together paintings, works on paper, and a sculpture. The exhibition centres on the recurring image of the tree—at once a presence within the landscape and a metaphor for endurance, stillness, and psychological depth. Moving beyond documentation, Kumar constructs imagined terrains where atmosphere, memory, and spatial tension shape the experience of looking.
