Ardee Foundation
Ardee Foundation, established in 1997, was founded with a clear and enduring mission: to champion excellence in both education and the arts. What began as a vision to create meaningful platforms for learning and cultural exchange has, over nearly three decades, grown into a dynamic, multifaceted institution at the intersection of knowledge, creativity, and community.Today, the Foundation is led by its Chairperson, Ms. Shefali Varma, who also serves on the Advisory Council of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. Her leadership brings a deep personal commitment to fostering art, culture, and public engagement, strengthening the Foundation’s presence within one of India’s most influential cultural ecosystems. For over thirty years, Ardee Foundation has remained resolute in its dedication to nurturing independent thought, creativity, and inclusivity. Through The Ardee Schools, it has pioneered progressive educational models that encourage children to question deeply, think critically, and cultivate a lifelong relationship with learning. In parallel, the Foundation has been a steadfast patron of Indian art and culture—supporting artists, preserving legacies, and creating spaces where tradition and modernity meet in meaningful exchange. This cultural vision draws from the legacy of the Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA), the landmark gallery established by Ashok Varma in the early 1990s.
