Art, Actually? An Art Quiz by Aryapriya Ganguly

February 3, 2026 6:30 pm — 9:30 pm

Triveni Kala Sangam, 205, Tansen Marg, Todermal Road Area, Mandi House, New Delhi, India

The Arts Quiz is conceived as an intellectually rich, fast paced, and visually immersive engagement with the global history of art. Curated and conducted by Aryapriya Ganguly, the quiz aims to celebrate the diversity, depth, and disruptive energies of the arts, spanning classical traditions to cutting edge 21st century practices.

The quiz will traverse a wide spectrum of artistic expression. Visual arts will include classical painting traditions, modernist movements, Indian and global contemporary art, installation art, sculpture, photography, digital and mixed media practices. Equal emphasis will be placed on performing arts, covering theatre, and interdisciplinary practices that blur the boundaries between body, space, sound, and technology. Questions will draw from art history, curatorial practices, iconic artworks, landmark exhibitions, influential artists, critical theory, popular culture, and the socio political contexts that shape artistic production.

Designed to be inclusive yet intellectually rigorous, the quiz will be open to all participants, with teams of two members each. The format will consist of a preliminary written round to test breadth of knowledge and visual literacy, followed by an on stage final featuring interactive audio visual questions, image based interpretation, rapid fire segments, and conceptual connect rounds. The finals will be curated to reflect the dynamic, experimental spirit of the India Art Fair, engaging both participants and audiences alike.

At its core, The Arts Quiz seeks to foster curiosity, reward interdisciplinary thinking, and create a shared public moment where art history, contemporary practice, and cultural memory collide. It positions the quiz not merely as a competition, but as a celebration of how art continues to shape how we see, perform, and imagine the world.
